Which car do you think without busting the bank would make a nice weekend car?
TVR's I heard some good stories but some horrific experinces too.
Just been thinking of Cobra's but replicas as the originals cost a bit
Some nice ones here;
Sovereign Car Sales: AC Cobras for sale
But how reliable are they?
I quite fancy a V8 as the sound is![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Or should I wait for the new M3 V8 to drop in price in a few years and buy one of those as they should be reliable.
There is of course the Monaro. Now if they did a RHD Mustang then I would be sold on one of those![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I would not be wanting to spend more than £30k on one so all V8 exotica such as Aston Martin's are out.
Having owned scoobs for the last 7 years I am used to bomb proof reliabilty and a bit concerned I will end up taking the plunge and regretting it.
Anyone any experiences to share?
p.s. Don't wanna do the classic car thing as tried that and got stung in the wallet.

To be fair, the TVR V8S tends to get pretty good reports in terms of both reliability and driver enjoyment![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
That's where any spare cash of mine would be diverted anyway

What about an 80's Mustang..?
5.0 HO V8 and tuneable into unbelievable figures....
Alternatively, a Hot rod, something like a 'glass 1932 roadster running a small block. For £30k you could easily get a top show winner, for £15k you could get a real cracker, with all the right parts that will barely move in value despite use. SB Chevy motor reliable as anything, easy 300bhp in a car that barely weighs a ton. More individual than anything else out there and turns as many, if not more heads than a Veyron.

The thing is with these is that the looks the car will get are likely to be admiring rather than 'flash git' type looks. the car is a classic, even the replicas imho.
It will be easy to look after and ghet fixed, ford or Rover V8 lumps are good for many miles and cheap to fix compared to many.
Over a TVR, without doubt, over the BM, yup, over a monaro agian yes - it is an iconic, timeless car.
On my list to own one day

lol, I think in the wet, they could be deadly, Ive got a 1978 corvette, as a project car, doing it up at the moment, v8 engine sounds great in them, my one is missing the backboxs of the zorst, which leads a really loud v8 , enough to make the ground shake next to the car!

Corvette C6 will soon be in reach. 400/400 engine, cool looks and reliable.
Or you could get a mint C5 Z06.
Or wait a bit longer and go for a C6 Z... thats a serious car that is..
Other options, Viper 8.0 V10... can pick up a nice late 90s one for well under 30k. Gen 2 viper is not that much more now for an early one.
There is a company in the UK that do RHD Dodge V10 pick ups now, from what I hear the conversion is good quality. New they are 39k but I would expect a 12 month old one to be about 30k.

My uncle has an MG ZT V8, you can get them for 10k, his has had loud exhausts fitted and it sounds fantastic, its pretty quick, well built and goes well, the amount of positive reaction it gets is astounding, people seem to love it.
