Default Auto Trader scams

I've got my BMW for sale on Auto Trader at the moment and i got this email this morning:

"Hello.
I am writing in regards to your advert on auto trader site.
I am very much inteested in buying your above advert subject
I have gone through the details,I am quite satisfied with it.
Kindly furnish me with the final price you wish tolet it go.
You can ring me on 07024038469
Thank you very much
Regards
John"

Please confirm that it's a scam - I'm not going to phone the number as I suspect it's super-premium rate.

ICSTIS ought to know:

ICSTIS Consumer - Recognise Premium Rate

They say something about some people offering premium numbers beginning "07" but also say that it's not allowed.

Sounds like you're right to be concerned.

Nope it's a mobile number, they all begin with 07
Premium rate numbers begin with 09

That's not to say it's definately NOT a scam though

Although this doesn't relate to the number posted, it may explain a little:

UK Telephone Code search 07024072029

When you check on the company mentioned, you'll find this: Magrathea Telecommunications Limited

Looks like its a telemarketing company.

If someone really wanted to buy your car they would phone you. Anything you receive which looks like the above is a scam. Never trust anyone.
