Default BMW 525D Sport

Had a quick drive of my mate's 525D. In the real world this is one rapid car! I can imagine it starts to slow above 80-100mph but I'm too old and boring for those kind of speeds on public roads.
Was very impressed by the grunt of this car. The DMS 535D must be fantastic!

The 535D through 30-70 is rapid.... It was timed faster than the M5 from 30-70.... Imagine with a re-map and some mods.... An oil burner which can be faster than a M5 up to 100....

I've got a 525d sport, and I think it is 'OK' performance wise....but with cars performance is always relative to the other cars youve owned, so I guess compared to M3s etc, a 525d is never going to cut the mustard....

Having said that, its a great car!

Id love to have a go in a 535d....

What I meant was around town its a very rapid car. My current AMG is M3 fast and would leave a 530 trailing in a 0-100 or 150 dash, but around town streets the 530D felt almost as fast as my car. If that makes sense.

We covered this in a previous thread. The 535D is NOT faster 30-70. The stats used on some website were incorrect. They quoted the 50-70 figure rather than the 30-70.

As for mods & remap, yawwwwnn, you can pretty much remap and mod anything enough to be the fastest thing on the road so it's largely an irrelevance. However, if you have something and want to mod/remap it, go for it, no problem there but it then stops being standard.
