Default Valuation please.

need some help

Ive seen a Nissan patrol 2.8 GR SE TD. LWB 1997 with 100k on the clock. Full leather and AC etc. It would appear to be in good condition for year and well looked after. But reccon the possible reserve is high? the guy reccons it will sell for £4k + .

Anyone able to tell me what a real figure should be etc

thanks

Doing a quick comparison on Autotrader would show that's on the cheap side and indeed Glass's at Vauxhall's Value My Car proves the same.

Is it the rounded shape(i.e.almost identical to what you would buy from Nissan now if you bought a new one),if it is,i would say it's about 1k undervalue,if it is the older squared off model with the large stick out arch extensions it's probably 1k over priced...................depending on condition and whether or not it's an import.

Its none UN !! and its thel last of the brick shape (which I like....traffic wardens tend to bounce off the rounder edges!)

I reccon it worth about £3k max (But what do I know !)

condition looks to be better than average.

cheers

A few years ago now i had a look at some 4x4's at a dealers, and viewed/drove an Isuzu Trooper 3.2TD,a Mitsubishi Shogun 2.8TD,a Jeep Cherokee 2.5TD and a Patrol 4.2 non turbo diesel...................for grunt etc i thought the Patrol was by far the best,so depending on what you want it for,you may be better off with the 4.2 Diesel (non turbo) IMO

Just had a look on Autotrader and done a national search (don't know where you are),but there is one in Bury St Edmonds for £1995(4.2D),one in Plymouth @£2300,one near Rochdale for £2995 so plenty about.

your right about this they look the best
and are true offroaders

3 to 4k doesn't sound far out for a full spec deisel 4x4, and you say its above average condition
there can't be that many of these cars about, so someone with a good one won't want to give it away, i think its all about the haggling
and a bit of patience, but you could miss it,
not every car can be a bargain, and giving a bit more for the right one always repays itself

told by everyone and their dog ,not to go near the 4 litre ones as I might as well just pour the diesel onto the petrol station forecourt !!???

I reccon I could be happy with a 2.8. Its not like I will ever realy need its full carrying capability etc. just going to carry a few tools in the rear. Might "green Lane " it now and then?
