Smile CLIO 182 TROPHY

Bought myself one of these little devils yesterday, picking it up on wednesday, really enjoyed the test drive, the levels of grip and handling are amazing , roundabouts were huge fun, looking foward to some back road / trackday action.

i got mine brand new at just under £14k you'll love it my main advise for you however is change the front tyres for winter as it advises in the handbook otherwise once the snow comes you wont get up a hill!

0-100 is nuts after that they can be a bit gutless but like u saying having the back wheel cocked up round all the roundabouts is great fun!

^^ I have the Exalto's on my Cup, I take it they're on the Trophy too? The recent snow in Fife didn't pose any problems for them in my car.

I am a big fan of the renaultsoprt cars and the 182 trophy is a stonker.
I had test drive in the new 197 Clio last week and have to say it has the worst steering of virtually any car i have ever driven. No feeling whatsoever through the wheel, just heavy and dull then at low speeds its too light! not very quick either due to its new bulk.Looks nice though!
Had a test drive in a 225 cup Megane after it and loved the way it steered and handled so much so that the scoob might be going to make way for one!

Colin.

Thumbs up

Had the Troph for nearly two weeks now and I am genuinley shocked at its ability, fast as you dare around the twisties, and its quick to, I have had some cars Scoobs, Evo, M3, M5, and so on, and its right up there in the best car Ive owned stakes.
Fitted Xenon lights at the weekend, icing on the cake.

I've been told the driving position is a bit high. How do you find it Crofty?

Ive not had a problem, but I am only 5ft 9 , the excellent Recaro seat are slightly lower than the standard Renault items I beleive.

Angry

My wife has a Trophy. It is a fantastic car, so much fun.

However, It has been off the roads for 6 weeks now because it does not start. Garage has been incompetent beyond belief and has ordered the incorrect wiring loom 4 times in a row. It takes a week each time to get it from France. that is just the tip of the iceberg of the story, it has been in the dealers 5 times with the same problem. renault UK have been worse than bloody useless too.

RANT!!!
