The new M3
Looks pure ****e. Surely this is CAR magazine being cheeky as it looks so crap. If it is real I suppose everyone can carry on placing orders for the RS4 or seek out used M3 CSL's.

Agreed, Seems to have gone the way of Subaru and Mitsubishi and their new cars
I do like the look of the current m3 and will probably get one, I shall not be buying this newer version, just as I have avoided all new shape Imprezas.

Looks great IMO! Doesnt jump out that its the hot model - just the badge and big wheels and arches give the clues that its something special - and that's how it should be.
With a 400bhp V8 under the bonnet I dont think many people would say no...

ALL new cars are more pointed/rounded at the front due to pedestrian impact.
The new Scoob will have no scoop due to this.
Dont like this M3, would have present one.

Aaah, another well informed, intelligent, unbiased and objective statement from you. Your posts never fail to amaze me.
What car do you drive?

Of course it's a fake! The numberplate is from a 335 coupe that's been in all the mags. Unfortunately, it'll probably be fairly similar, so give me an E30 evo Sport any day of the week!

Yeah but the 335i/d looks really nice and sleek in the flesh. When the M3 hits the road i think it will look pretty good as long as they flare the arches a bit and make it look abit different from the lesser coupes

Totally agree mate - i saw pictures of the coupe in mags and tbh it looked crap but i saw a 335ci in the flesh and it looked lovely if not groundbreaking.

Thing is the 335i is ripe for a bit of turbo fettling, i'm sure we will see the likes of DMS fiddling and maybe producing up to 380-400 bhp woth torque to match. will make a lovely driving machine i would imagine and possibly a match for the new M3 (possibly)

At the moment, I have a sneaking feeling that the 335i will actually be a better car than the new M3 overall.
I just think a V8 in a 3 series is wrong - Not sure why but it's just an opinion!

The new V8 is going to be stunning - more compact than the straight six, and a sound to die for! Ignore the original poster's link to Car Mag - these are proven to be Photoshops. Lots of low down torque, and BMW's new V8's can rev'd like a six. Splendid!
As for the looks - just go back to the forums and see what people were saying about the current M3 before its release - lots of dodgy p/shops around, and people moaning about "blander" looks...didn't turn out that way though. I personally think it'll look stunning and a real "grower"...can't wait to test one!

Getting bifg power out of the 335i will be a very hard and expensive task.
I see my fair share of new 3er coupes in london and I must say the E46 was alot more special. The new 3er looks a bit japanese.

New M3 will be too lardy, like the old one. 3 series chassis, like its e46 predacessor is already dynamically compromised as it is.
There are only 5 decent Ms made
E30 M3 EVO
E28 M5
E34 M5
E39 M5
E46 M3 CSL (purely due to the CSL tweeks)
Any other M isn't worth sniffing at unless used for meer posing purposes
The e60 M5 is also good but only suitable for Star Trek gurus
