Superchips - Leon FR 170 TDi remap - 213bhp !!!!
How fast would one of these things be?
I imagine it would give a stock scooby a run for it's money once rolling !
Diesel has come a long way !

I imagine with frontwheel drive and no doubt a huge torque figure, it will be wheelspin central
3rd and 4th will be fun though

I make it around 10.5s 60-100mph so it would certainly cause a lot of problems for stock UK WRX's. Classics would still have the legs but not by much (a car length or so). It would certainly have 'pants down syndrome' in that the TDI could easily catch a scooby out with its low-down grunt. I personally find remapped Ibiza Cupra TDI's more interesting as they are around 1200kg and can hit 200bhp from a remap

I find that my mapped vRS smokes sometimes, especially if med-heavy throttle from low down revs in third say.
Followed a vRS the w/end on the M6, his seemed to puff each gear change.
All part of the chug-chug power.
These diesels nowadays, when mapped, give plenty of cars a surprise.

Very rapid in the dry, but as stated above expect LOTS of wheelspin on tarmac anything other than bone dry, especially from a standstill.

Mmm. Scooby performance and more from a mid priced car, that would probably be much quicker in the mid range and feel alot better as a daily driver. And yet still be very comfortable, return good mpg, reliable and go on for ever.
Ever wondered if there is life after a scoob
The new generation Vauxhalls never end to amaze me now as well with the VXR petrol range with 240bhp de-tuned out the box.

But if I had 15-25K to spend and at my time in life (age) I would have to now seriously look at what some other motor manufacturers have to offer.
I have already decided my next car in a year or 2 time, and it will defo be a second hand 335I or 335D.

so how much does one of those re-mapped babies go for then?
whats the MPG on them?
I've just bought a pug 206 TD sport, travelling 90 miles/day & loving the fuel costs, just missing the handling & the poke of the scoob though.

Problem is your not going to get much more than 30 mpg from a Cupra R, I've now got a family, and needed the bigger boot. I know its a bit of an old mans car, but I opted for a VW Bora PD130 ST. Plenty of poke (even more with remap, 190bhp ish) and I regularly get 50-55 mpg. Depends whether your pockets are deep enough for the fuel, if mine were I would have the Cupra R.
