Default £30k luxo barge - options?

Hi all,

My cousin is in need of car for client meetings. He currently has an XKR that has been in the bodyshop so long he has decided to chop it in.

My recommendations have been:

Audi RS4
E39 BMW M5
Mercedes E55 AMG

His only suggestion so far has been a Chrysler 300 (think that's what they are called) as you can get a very late model for not much £.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Must not be diesel and must have lots of creature comforts. He isn't too worried about sportyness as he has a 360 spyder in the garage!

Thanks in advance

Ian

Has to be a 5/7 series BMW. Nothing else really has the credibility. The E39 is a cracking car but too old now and not a good image.

530D or a 545 can be had fully loaded for that price.

S8, A8 W12 or if he can find one Phaeton W12. Understated and less 'wankerish' than the BMW. Also no crappy Idrive.

Buy mine.

Audi : Spotless, warranted Audi RS6 Avant

Would be willing to come down a little on price.

VW Phaeton would offer the best mix of value/equipement/reliability at that price, I would have thought.

If it's client meetings, I'd say the Audi. VW isn't the badge at that level.

Thanks to all for the replies. I have found a 504 BHP RS6 saloon on Piston Heads so I am going to put that in front of him as well as yours Edcase.

Cheers

Lexus 430? ALL the toys, reliability, a bit more stealth and much less demographic baggage than a Merc or Beemer.
