C2 VTS
Quick little things these arent they, see one on my way to work, red one, young lad down the A34 bypass, goes everywhere like his **** is on fire but it does look like it would shame a few cars with double the horsepower, he doesnt seem to slow at all for roundabouts.
Anyone driven one ?

My mrs had a C2VTR for 2 years. Very hard ride and build quality is not great (but fair for the price) but it was brilliant fun down a twisty country lane for 10 mins. Then after that I wanted to give it back..
The back seats and boot are amazingly small too, I think a smart car has a bigger boot lol.
Citroen upgraded her ECU foc about 6 months before she got rid of it and it really did make it quite a pocket rocket, gear changes were a lot faster and we both agreed it seemed like it had a lot more midrange power.

I think it is a great package. I think i would have one if i was in the market for a cheap city car with spice !
Not as quick as a saxo VTS though

I drove one of these about a year ago now. They do need a good thrashing to get them going...this one was literally off the lorry though so was still very tight.
Plenty of poke though. The handling is quite impressive actually but it really doesnt need much thinking about to drive it...just throw it in to a corner and it will probably make it through with little to no fuss which make sense why hes not braking for roundabouts lol.
Gear box is far too sloppy for my liking, completly lets it down to be honest.
Very cheap inside, falls apart in your hands...but does fit back together nice and easily so i guess it doesnt matter too much. I hated the dials.. the rev counter is stupid and cheesey.
All in all found it quite boring but its quick point to point and doesnt look bad.

not a patch on the Saxo VTS.
Nice looking cars though
*edit* those vids lol... reminds me of what i loved about my old VTS... it went like **** off a shovel and suprised alot of people.. they looked pretty much like any 1.2 or slowish VTR.. until it started moving!

Had my saxo Vts from new for 4 years now. I only planned on having it for 6 months ..... i can't bear to see it go
Its never missed a beat , still drives like new, great handling, and fantastic value for money. I only paid 8k for it brand new.
dog.

I put 20,000 mils on a C2 GT in two years and the only thing that went wrong with it was the horn, which was replaced under warranty. Nothing else broke or fell off. One of the most reliable cars I've ever owned tbh, second only to Hondas.
Cheap and cheerful, yes, but surprisingly well built and much, much more solid than first impressions suggest. Decent quality paint on them too.
The GT was a lighter VTR with a proper gearbox. Similar performance to VTS due to less kit equalling less weight.
4 star euro ncap rating too unlike the saxos which fold up like paper.
Very, very grippy, almost zero roll. Can be made to oversteer once you get to know them. Good engines. Gearbox ratios fine, change quality not the best but mine got sweeter with age.
Rev counter naff (should have been digital like the speedo)
Cracking stereo/speakers for a standard set up.
All in a cracking little car for the money.
