Dug the 205 out for summer
After sitting idle and forgotten in the garage for the last 3 years, decided to get my finger out of my a**e and get the dear old One-Nine back on the road.
A £500+ service, rolling road tune (genuine 126 break: not bad for 70k miles), MOT,tax and a bloody good clean later (hell it needed it: dust, cobwebs, dead paint, plastic gone white, you name it) and it's ready to rock.
Still drives wonderfully even after all these years. Soooo playful. Unbeatable feel, feedback and response IMHO, and this is from someone who has just sold a VX220.
Ideal for my daily commute: 4 miles of twisty, undulating B road as good as anything you will drive on.
Should be a fun summer

That brochure brings back some memories James, used to have that one when I was a kid.
The Old Boy bought my mum a shiny new white 1.9 in 1987: car daft dad and teenage son (me) were delighted, but mother HATED it with a passion, pining for her old Capri 2.8 Injection.

i am seriously envious of you 205 owners.
i used to have a miami blue 1.6 about 9 years ago, great little car. to be honest dint treat her well enough, now i miss her.... i even remember the reg (only car i do) J115 EUS my mate saw her in manchester last year, anyone else seen her?
so much so, i think i am gonna look for a 1.9 as a weekend car..
weres the best place to look for a mint, totally standard late edition?

Been to work in it today, couple more pics
The lanes were busy this morning, but had a "do" on the way home, generally warmed things up and dumped some soot on the alloys. It's still one of the greats
Spot where I p1ssed petrol down the freshly waxed paint on the forecourt and for the eagle eyed ones, yes I am replacing the fogs soon.

That does look a fantastic example.
Makes me wish I could have afforded to store away my 106 GTI I had years ago. Light weight, perfect handling, and always brought a smile to my face whenever I drove it.

Mine's getting its **** spanked at Cadwell on Mon 31st July, should be good, providing I can get it mapped before then, and sort the niggles out (like the anti lag sounding exhaust system)
