Are Audis any good ??
Just been to look at A3s with my old man he fancies a 2.0Tfsi s-line special edition
They had one in the stealers
It look very very nice, the quality looked out of this world inside and out
very nice spec .. full leather, 18" wheels ect ect
It drove very nice to not STI fast but I think a wrx would struggle.
Are they living on reputation or are they trully a leauge above ford / vauxhall ect ??
I am very impressed and so was my Dad
The only niggle is a couple of family members have had bad experiences with Audis
Are they any good ??
I dont want comparisons with Scoobys they are totally different cars

My wife has an A4 Avant - very reliable and robust workhorse.
My mother in law has an RS6
My father in law has an S4
My parents just bought a A4 Avant turbo diesel to replace a Mondeo Estate
They're pretty good...

Having owned both beemers (3 and 5 series) i would pick an audi over them anyday, I have owned 2 a4's and now have an a6 2.7 quatro and love them IMHO they are head and shoulders about most cars for the money.
Get one you wont be disapointed.

Strange as I've seen a few A3s while my g/f was thinking of getting one and I thought the interiors weren't that good. Granted better than many cars and well bolted in but the plastics looked cheap, esp the big slab that covers the width of the car over the dash. The A8s, A6s that were at the dealers really are well built and nice plastics however, yum.

A while ago I used to have a Audi 80 coupe 2.3 Quattro and that was an awesome car to drive. I would have another Audi as ithey are very good cars. Only reason I bought a Scoob recently was that I couldn't get a decent S3 yet for the budget I had.
Now I've had the Scoob for about 6 months I don't think I'll get the S3. A mate of mine has an S3 and we had a blast off the lights and my Scoob was way quicker up to 70mph. From a standing start must have pulled 2-3 car lengths infront of him which was a great suprise to both of us. he was well impressed with the performance of my Scoob (standard UK turbo 2000) and is now thinking of getting one.

They are good - Ive got an A4 2.0 and havent had any real problems with it. The 2.0 engines arent the best however - they do like a bit of oil now and then, and dont sound all that good IMO - get 37mpg average tho! Not driven the 2.0T however.
Build quality is excellent - the interiors still look almost new when the car has done a fair mileage. Mines done over 70k and still looks new!
Exterior quality is very good - panels seem quite thick metal, so they dont dent as easily as some makes.
Servicing costs are a joke however, and even specialists charge a lot because they know how expensive dealer servicing is.
My old man always has Audi's and hes found them to be excellent too - had an Audi 80 2.0 5cylinder years ago with 250k miles - had a new clutch at 180k and other than that it was just usual servicing items!

But seriously, I love BMWs, but after 2xBMWs I've changed to a RS6 for a change. I love it. The whole fast Audi philosophy is about everyday performance i.e. they are 4WD, more comfortable, and bags and bags of torque.
BMW are RWD, hi revving high BHP but relatively low torque engines.
THis is not to mention the interior quality. I know people bang on about Audi interior quality being the best. It really is, and makes driving a great experience. Just compare the new (E60) 5 series with the RS6 or the new A6 interior. The BMW has swathes of cheap hard plastic - I was very dissapointed.
Audis have much more accessible performance i.e. it is a much better and quicker everyday car. I floor the RS from a standstill and its devastating everytime, whatever the weather. In the M3 it was a case of DSC lights, power cutting out to maintain traction even in the dry. But the equivalent BMW is a better for the 2 days on a year I track the car (not least becuase the engine is further back).
2 days versus 363 days.... hmmm.

FAO: ex Audi coupé owners.
In 1989 my dad bought a 2.2 Quattro coupé. He enjoyed it quite a lot, and I spent all my school years being shuttled in it. My dad was never a fast fast driver, but I thought the car seemed quick enough. It was well maintained at the main dealer all it's life and at 14 years old and 160k my dad gave it to me as I was in between cars and jobs. So I ran it for about 3 months. I was so excited to finally spend time in the car I always wanted to be behind the wheel of as a kid. But I was so disappointed. It was obscenely slow. I remember my first journey out. I went to the fuel station brimmed the £50 ? tank and joined the M1 at 29. I hammered it down the slip road watching the rev counter for anything untoward, checking my pressures etc, when a Passat TDI went past me, on the slip raod, while I was flat out
The experience went on. It did 20 mpg, it handled like a barge and I suppose it gripped, but it didn't have enough power. Maybe the 100cc helped out sufficiently? It leaked through the boot, it was under braked the doors were too heavy and used to drop, and the seat backs used to buckle? I got fed up of it, and left it to rot.
Shame really, I wanted to love it.

Just from driving it really, esp the change from RWD to FWD.
Oh, and the BMW drivers at work are taking the michael about the 'chav' wheels on his new A4
