Has anyone had any experience in one of these? Had a test drive the other day. Seemed pretty fast, solid around corners, had a nice growl to it & good fun to drive.

I thought it was ok but my money would go on a vtr any day. I know some people will moan about build quality (both cars are built about as bad as each other really) but having driven both the vtr was more fun/quicker/had more flair/. Handling ws very similar. Plus you will get a newer vtr than a zetec s for your money.

I had one and it was excellent!!! You can just chuck it round any corner. I looked at saxos, glad i made the right decision! In some ways more fun than the scoob, but i found it a little slow (although faster than a VTR).
If you are comparing 0-60 times please note that the VTR will do 60 in second whereas the Z-S hits the limiter just before so you have to change to 3rd. 20-80 it would be quicker.
The Z-S also has torque-bias traction control which is nice for wet cornering, as it drags the back end round. Bit weird when you pull out of a junction quickly and expect the inside wheel to spin and it's the outside one instead!!

My folks have an X plater, had it for, ooo, a couple of years now.
100% reliable to date and build quality is fine after circa 20k miles.
I've driven it back-to-back with my old 206GTI. Whilt it wasn't as quick (not suprising given it's 1.6 vs 2.0), it's certainly a nice car to drive. Good fun to punt around.
Looks good too IMO and an a different image to the Saxo VTR.
