Is it worth fitting a K&N filter to a Passat 130PD,two of my mates have fitted them to a DCI Clio and a Bora 115 with Tunit box and recommend them very highly.Help!!!

I've not tried it on mine but from what I've heard it's not really worth the cost compared with just fitting a new VAG paper filter, and doesn't give a noticable gain, the Passat airbox snorkel and airbox are pretty big and can suck a lot of air.

Worth making sure your airbox is clean tho', I was shocked at the amount of crap that was in my airbox after 20K miles, literally handfuls of stones, twigs, bits & bobs.

If you have an adjustable tuning box then you may be able to take advantage of the extra air. You should be able to turn the tuning box up further without too much smoke.

The K&N induction kit is not without issues on the PD engine diesels though as MAF's have died and under bonnett temperatures cause problems.
May be as well to try a K&N replacement panel filter with tuning box instead.

Cheers chaps,car is standard but heard from mate in Bora that the K&N panel filter really made a difference to his,he fitted it after he had the Tunit box fitted and said it made it gave it more torque.
