Test drove the 225 Trophy, nice car but the only thing that puts me off is the purchase price and the residuals. Performance wise, its about the same as a WRX once rolling. Turn in and brakes are even a bit better than my previous scoob (03WRX).

Obviously a cr@p driver then as it appears there is litle a WRX can see of that does not run on batteries and deliver milk to your door
The Megane looks like it was styled (if you could describe it as styled) by a team of five year olds.
Whilst the WRX may not be pretty it has a certain rough charm.
Built quality wise i would rather have the scoob, never been that impressed with Renault build
There ya go my two penneth

I would imagine performance wise they are near identical that is without going into the ridiculous 0-60 and track time shennanigans that these threads normally end up turning into. FWD is the main problem if i was choosing but thats just me, I cant get my head round owning a powerful FWD car thinking about how much they must be a nightmare in bad weather and lets face it its wet at least 50% of the time in Britain. If FWD isnt an issue for you then you should also consider the host of other fast FWD hatches around at the moment but to me they all look much and such the same.

I'd imagine they are very similar. The megane pulls better than a 182/172 which after many a debate we know isn't far off a standard wrx pace
I'd imagine the Impreza to have the handling advantage, although a 225 with the cup pack (or even just a 225 cup) does trn in pretty well, and those brakes are lovely
Had one for a few hours last year and it was defnitely quicker than my 172, my step dad has a wrx and tbh once rolling felt about the same kinda "pull" when booting it.

Wouldn't touch a Megane 225 with a barge pole. Been in a standard Megane and reminded me of my old 172. The dash will rattle away and it will quickly drop to bits. Avoid at all costs.

Never really been a big fan of the 225 megane and you dont see many on the roads. Not sure if thats a good or bad point though?
Followed one round a track before and it appeared pretty competant.
Styling isnt really my cup of tea.
Renaults appear to be 'your lucky or your not' with build quality. Some and great others not......
For once if those were the only two options I would opt for the wrx.
