A few surprises there.

I stil remember when the Astra Belmont was number 1!!!

I think I have only seen two in my entire life!

when i bought my first series one rs turbo in 1993 that was one of the most stolen cars in the uk that year.

I had a Vauxhall Belmont and guess what................

Surprising some of the cars. Take the X5 or Merc for example, the fact you can hardly insure one without a tracker should deter thieves on the basis they won't get far but obviously they are not the brightest bunch out there.

Most of them are on a ferry before the owner even knows they are gone. They end up in eastern europe being driven by gangsters.

If tracker could even tell you where your car was in this situation was would you go and get it

I actually saw a Belmont at the auctions on Wednesday.

Couldn't believe that both door locks were still intact. Thats got to be a first

i have a clk so was really surprised to see it was #3! there aren't really that many around compared to golfs etc. can't see one being stolen without the keys either which is of course worrying!

There's actually thousands of Astra Belmonts on the road, but they're so anonymous no-one notices them. That's why they're so popular to steal and use as get away vehicles - anyone looking at it will fall into a deep coma before they realise that they've seen it.

Notice too that the images given with the Fords and Vauxhauls ar of new cars.

It will be the old ones that are nicked cos they are so easy to open and start with anything but a key!
