What exactly is this 'overboost' thing they mention. It was also quoted in the 997tt article in Evo this month.(Had a quick flick at Tesco)
Also for the first time ever I see the 0-100kph time is quoted as being faster for the tip rather than manual!!!!!!!!!!

According to my dealer yes, however spec not out yet. But GT3 Spec is out.
The 996 RS is so much fun to drive, probably a slower car A>B on back roads, but makes you giggle as soon as it you start the engine

Overboost...basically it runs more boost pressure for a set amount of time (say, 10seconds) then knocks it back down to a lower pressure -it's nothing new or fancy, many performance diesels do it too.
It's just a cheap skate way to improve 0-60 times and aceleration figures without the engine blowing up on a autobahn blast

The local porsche centre want a £10k (refundable) deposit for a 997TT slot, with no gurantee of delivery . Seems like quite a lot of money to me, with the car being some 18months away. In fact scrub the last bit, it just sounds like a lot of money to me full stop !!

Must say though having driven the 997s it makes me wonder whether you actually need a more powerful, heavier 4 wd version. The 997s just seemed perfect. Maybe I'm just getting old.............
