VW Golf Anniversary Edition GT TDi, Any good???
As the title, got a BMW 320 at the moment but using too much in fuel (do quite a bit of motorway driving) and want to sell it to get a second house so need the money!!
Anybody got anything bad to say about them?? Faults etc etc.. I know the VW TDi's are a good engine so shouldnt be too many problems there but what about the rest of the car?? Any help would be appreciated. The one below is what i'm looking at,
Cheers,
Gav..

Check the wheels for pitting, there`s loads about this on www.uk-mkivs.net
Apart from that they`re a good bet, they hold their value better than the non Anniversary cars and the black ones are pretty rare (they were only available in black, red or silver).
I looked at an ex-VW car but it was shabby and I picked up a standard 150PD Golf instead for around 2,000 cheaper.
I loved it, my present A3 2.0 TDI is very poor by comparison.

Only common faults I can think of are:
MAF sensor - Car will feel like its "holding back" particularly in 5th and 6th
Cooling Fans - Should be 2 speed, and always spin at a slow speed when
the climate control is set to auto. (Fix is a new set of fans at £300+)
Alloys Pitting - As Simon said, should have been sorted under warranty, but the replacements will prob eventually do the same.
Warranty on that car will have just run out too, and not sure of the mileage but cambelt/tensioners due at 60k.

Cheers for yoyr help fellas. The on i'm looking at only has 25000 miles in three years and looks in great condition!! Always like the look of them too but never realised how different they were to a standard GT Tdi!! How much were they new?? They seem to be holding value well and it's good to know the black ones are rarer.
