Erm is this a direct re-post?

Why would a scooby forum be best place to talk about an RS?

You will get a huge amount of info from the interford forum as well as the RSOC website.

You will prob get slagged off on here a bit but hey

Ford forums will give you more info (doh!)

With c60k members.... I'm sure there will be a fair bit of Ford Knowledge/Experience flying about here too mate!!

Are you meaning an Escort RS Turbo or an Escort RS Cosworth??

Cheers,
Grant

c60k members!!!!!!

Alright then, some ford knowledge here I expect!!

Still think somewhere like interford would be a better bet for both rsts and cossies. might be able to point towards a well known car for sale. these are always best I find

best off with the rs woners club imo for this. there's pretty much a hatred of rs cars with scooby owners and vice versa. i hated scoobies and owners when i had my rs. now i've got my scooby all rs owners are scum. only kidding. a car's a car and each to their own.

i loved every minute of owning my rs turbo. must admit though, the rust and the obligatory weekend repairs get a bit boring after a while. you'll pay as much for a tip top rs turbo, if you can find one, as you would for an early classic scooby. so imo it'd have to be scooby all the way.

just my opinion though.

If he is going to use it as an everyday car then i would say the scooby, whichever model, but as a weekend car i would say the escort as it will hold its money better being less made and more of an icon than a run of the mill scooby. Make sure it has an uprated fuel pump even if standard, a genuine fsh, and all its mots and if you want a good one you will expect to pay £15000 upwards, anything else will cost this eventually when it goes bang.
