VX220 standard 2.2
Anyone own of of these?
Values are softening to the pojnt that I can afford one.
Not too sure how practical it is for day to day use though.
Cheers.

Got an Elise s1 - not a VX but v similar.
Its fine for a weekend/commuter car but I couldnt recommend it as an only car.
The VX is only marginally more practical than the Elise.

I use mine everyday.
Its more practicable than you think, Dont think you would have a problem Dream Weaver. Only issue is getting in while the roof is on, just like climbing into a tumble drier !
My Turbo has a Courteney Stage Two and at 241bhp, you wouldnt want much more with no lsd etc. Forget using any of the pwr in the damp or wet, on a dry day its a different story.

Scooby Regular
May try one out then. It has to be a "sports car" so toher options includ Boxster, TT Roadster, new MX5 or S2000, all depends which I can fit in though.

Mine does 0-60 in 3.9 ! Theres not much that can touch it, although the most important thing in any car is the driver, I bet a good driver in a slow car would beat me !!!!
Tops out at 150, the other cars you list are rather soft ! Although given a year in the VX I will be hankering for the luxuries that a Boxster can provide !!!!

240bhp ? Pah !
My "Exige" is now kicking out 300bhp & 300lb/ft, and not weighed down with nonsense like central locking
Now that's a fast car
But for a budget Elise variant, a std. VX is excellent.

I'll test drive one when I get back to the UK.
I already know its a great sports car. For me the question is can I live with it every day. An mx-5 may be a better bet.

I live with my S2 Elise everyday
The only really annoying thing is clambering over the door sill (I am 6ft), getting in and out of the car when parked in the garage is pretty hilarious as the door does not open fully.
It is a bit of a pain driving on really rough road surfaces (like to get to my works car parking space I have to drive across some pretty big potholes) but you just gotta take it slow.
