Default Run About

I'm looking at getting another car as a commuter/run around.

I'm only looking at about 1K, and want low tax and insurance.

I've got a Ford Fiesta at the moment but fancy a change.

Nissan Micra, nothing else compares for the money. No cred, but who cares when they cost buttons to run and don't ever break.

agree with the above, £1k will get you a decent 93-95 micra 3door, low tax, and grp 3 insurance, reliable and will start up on the coldest of mornings.

A work mate has one, and its now done 120k on the clock, and you wouldnt be able to tell from the way it drives. Gives him about 45-48mpg as well. Service costs are minimal. Though not too solid on the motorway apparently so if you do a lot of motorway miles, i would go for something a bit more solid, or probably a bigger engine.

Im in the same position at the mo - looking for a £1000, 1litre run about for commuting to save petrol and miles on the scoob. Suzuki Alto's are available on 99 plates for 1k as are daewoo matiz'z'z'z. Original mini's, in this part of the world are rare and none cheaper than 4k.
One or two micras knocking about tho - worth a look by the sounds of it
