Default New Golf GTI & VAG approved ECU upgrade..?

Do VW offerer an approved (ie warranty intact) ECU upgrade for the new Golf GTI...?

A friend of a friend recons he has had his Gti 'superchipped' by his main dealer retaining his warranty and giving around 240bhp.

Not doubting that an ecu mod could be done just supprised that it's VAG approved..!

On the VAG forums Superchips' flash upgrades are starting to get recommended in the same breath as Revo and Jabba etc .... not like the old SN days

I'd be amazed if the VAG warranty remains.

I suspect that the garage that chipped the car might stand any warranty claims as goodwill. I'd want any agreement regarding upholding the warranty in writing if that's what the garage claim!

The VAG dealers over here have their own chip tuning stuff that retains warrenty so I presume the Brit dealers do aswell.

My Audi dealer is offering Superchips... be aware they are ripping the ECU apart to acheive this, the new ECU's are factory glued on the circuit board so I'll leave the rest to your imagination. Safe to say I'll be waiting for the OBDII port flash to become available...
