Nissan Skyline GTS-T Type M ECR33. Ive driven a few that Ive imported; theyre very different to a WRX though. The cars weigh over 100 kilos more and theyre 10PS down on a MY95 Impreza with slightly less torque. Also, theyre very big...

just sold my r33 gts-t. you need to do a couple of mods to make them feel better.

full exhaust, boost controller (loose the 2 stage boost rubbish) and some decent shocks.

You'll always be gutted it's not a GTR

True; but you should see how little they sell for in Japan; about £1,000 (or under) for an automatic and £1,500 for a manual; for Grade 3.5 cars..... GTRs (still a BNR32) of a similar grade sell for several times as much. The first BCNR33 GTRs werent available until 1995 and their prices are ridiculous, even in Japan.

When it comes to skyline it's my personal belief that you go hard or go home! The gts is not a skyline to me only the GTR is a true skyline! that car has some incredible heritage on the race track oh the land of the rising sun, i advise dont do it unless you do it properly and save them pennies instead!!!!

OR

get the GTS

Skyline is just the model name.
GTR is the top of that particular line.
GTS-T is a thoroughly capable car and REAR WHEEL DRIVE only so, arguably for some, more of a real drivers car.
People over here with GTS-Ts are getting serious power out of them.
don't give the car less than the credit it deserves as it is an awesome machine.

I prefer the looks of the GTS-T, I also think Skylines got a bit ott, especially the R34 GTR.

Lot less complex, less to go wrong and how fast do you really need ?

Before buying the scoob (sti4), I went to look at a skyline R33 GTS-T that belonged to none other than Andy Barnes of Sumo Power.

It had been modified with a huge HKS turbo, full HKS exhaust system (including manifold), HKS pistons, conrods, etc etc. The print out from GT-ART showed 370bhp at the wheels! Trust me, with the right mods, these things are lethal!

I have driven a GTS-T with stage 1 mods (about 270bhp at the flywheel)and it still felt like a very capable car.
They are bl*ody massive though, and the sti feels much more nimble.
