Higher Mileage?
I'm considering getting rid of the Scoob in favour of a BMW 330d but the ones in my price bracket tend to be 80,000 miles and up and MY00/MY01 models. My Scooby is also a MY01 but only has 40,000 miles on it.
Is it madness to consider a high mileage 330d or will they still hold their value regardless?

Rev,
They still hold their value pretty well, but there are bargains (relatively speaking) to be had. If you can, go for the facelifted 2001 car. These have slightly narrower indicators on the front and different bonnet creases. They keep the 184bhp lump, but gain a chunkier steering wheel and more direct steering rack.
You'll get a good one for £15k and prices start at £11k for a high miler. Don't be put off by miles. Go on service history, condition, number of owners and get it properly checked for any accident damage.
I'm on my 3rd one now, and would have no hesitation ordering a 4th if it came to the crunch.

Rev - I have a 204bhp Dec 04 car. Just done 11000 miles and I'm returning 38mpg average, mixture of motorway, A road, urban. And not hanging around either.
Can get 550 miles on a tank doing steady 75mph though.

Rev,
My mpg is sat at 42.0 average at the moment, but my average from new is 39.7, which is pretty good for a 3litre turbo'd car!
Mine is currently for sale to anyone who steps forward with £22.5k.

Matt,
It's a 2003 on a 53 plate. 204bhp 6 speed. Sat Nav, TV, Bluetooth, Nappa, Xenons, Harmon Kardon etc etc. Most options apart from electric seats and blinds. It has done 37k miles now, so it's nearly run in!

Thats a good price, in April paid 26.5k for my Sport 54 plate demo (had 5k on it) same colour as yours, Xenons, Heated Nappa, Bluetooth, 5 years free maintenance and I thought that was a bargain. Up to 11k miles now.

Matt,
It is a great price, but reflects the mileage to be honest and nothing else. Hopefully someone else might think it's good value too! At a dealers, you'd be looking at £25k+ for my car. Mine is at trade money in all honesty.
