Not unusual for a Lambo or other exotica i am afraid.
Was filming at GreyPaul Ferrari in Nottingham earlier this year, chatting to a chap who owned a 575 (i think) the GT tourer type.
His car had just had a 20K service which is a cambelt service, might have been a 40k service. anyway
The bill was £ 4,000.00!

A Goodman's Metro 6R4 Engine is around £22k now.
Or a 2002 S8 Impreza WRC engine is around £50k +. £5k would just about get you the turbo rebuilt!
An early Focus WRC engine freshen up is around £35k.
Those rebuilds will make the engine good for another 1000km's before you need to part with another suitcase full of cash!
Don't even mention gearboxes, dampers, diffs, wiring looms or boot hinges! (£1,000 for a boot hinge for an Impreza WRC!!)

I guess its all proportional to the value of the mota, if you can afford the £300,000 for a McMerc SLR you can afford to fork out £82,817.98 plus VAT if the engine went bang!!! I think you'd make sure you ran that in properly!
