A friend of mine has a gts.
Although not as quick as a gtr they are still fairly quick cars. I think the claimed 0-60 is around 6 seconds.
With them being big cars i didnt think it felt as fast as it was, and it felt like it wasnt till you got up into 3rd gear it really started to pull and feel quick

Id disagree about their 'not being a patch on a GT-R'. They produce only 30 PS less in a car weighing a damned site less; in my experience they arent a deal slower than the heavier RB26DETT engined car.

R33's are great..with a few mods they can be quick...But they still feel like a "primera coupe"...If you want a cheap, quick car, thats RWD..Get a R32 GTS-t and throw £1500 at it..you will be up at the 320 bhp mark and big smiles everywhere...
Oh...they drive better than the 33 as well...

30bhp believing the quoted figures
The GTR is widely known to be around 300bhp standard, plus the GTR is capable of 400bhp on Stage 1 mods, the GTS-T certainly doesn't get close to that figure

Does that not make the at the flywheel figure close to 300bhp... but you'd obviously raised the boost on a Hybrid Turbo, so it wouldnt be a standard reading?!

They aren't a bad car at all, but the GT-R is the daddy!

disagree with that imho........................................
you can get a minted clean, low mileage GTS for well under £5k straight from japan so u are the 1st owner in the uk.
stick a full GTR kit on it, GTR wheels and Badging and from the outside you have a GTR (or get a GTS with this already done as alot them in japan)
then modify the engine with a large single turbo and there u have it -
a GTR Replica thats quicker than alot of standard GTR's!!!
(but for less than a GTR costs and less insurance too)

It wont be a GTR no but if your not bothered about having 4WD would you not rather save £000's and have a car that looks the exact same?
Any in many cases quicker. ie my GTS is quicker than alot of GTR's on the road

Its not exactly the same mate - you still don't have the flared arches which look mean as ****
And you still can't launch it from 6-7k rpm and watch all four wheels grip and **** off up the road, a GTS-T would be sat spinning its rears!

What we gotta remember here fella's is...If you ONLY have £5000 to spend,a GTR is out of the question..A GTR is the daddy, but come with Big daddy price tags too..
The GTS-t is relatively inexepensive, and you can get it going really well.
PERSONALLY..if i had 5k..i wouldnt go for a standard 33..They are a dissapointment.THATS why i said,get a 32 and Mod it to the tune of £1500..
BTW guys..My Experience with my 32..I bought the Hybrid S/H off skyline owners,as i did the AVCR..My Car came already with a Blitz decat and a Blitz panel filter..But that was it..nothing else...It pulled 258 ATH at Thor in front of many other liner owners on a rolling road day..So unless Thors rollers are wrong, thats what i believe it was..
BTW..turbo and AVCR totalled £600 and i fitted and wired myself..Grasshopper set up the AVCR tho..
And i know the r32 is only a 2 litre..!!!!But its lighter and more agile than the 33..
Just my 2p worth..

No offence mate but theres no way in hell I'd fit a different turbo to any car with just a boost controller, aftermarket ECU like a Power FC or HKS Fcon is a must IMHO..........
#26
Thats because you got plenty of readies...I quite agree with you about the aftermarket ECU..but you see, sometimes your pressed into doing stuff. My 32 was passing oil through the turbo seals, and smoking a bit..So the Hybrid came up from a damaged car,it was the same kinda price as i could get a recon one,so i went for it,along with the AVCR..
The Hybrid had a steel impellor and 360 degree bearings, was running it at 1.5bar usually.
The car is still running strong now, with no more mods and its exactly the same some 12 months down the line..To be fair,it was going weak at high boost, and a better fuel pump wouldnt have gone amiss, but all in all i had a quick car on cheap money...that was all i was trying to get across.
And i was ultra reliable...and still is...
