What engine do these have, is it a GM motor. Have they ever had a Lamborghini up front.

It's got a huge Truck Turbodiesel motor. Lots of torque required, as it weighs a few tonnes.

Absolutely nothing to do with the Lambo LM002. Hummer's need to be tough, as one Military spokesman said "marines can break an anvil". Can you imagine them repairing Lamborghini V12s outside Baghdad?

Having said that, the LM002 was a development of a project to sell fancy 4x4's to Arab armies, but as they all drive Toyota Landcruisers and Nissan Patrols, the idea of an expensive and potentially fragile Italian car stranding them in the desert during an invasion didn't appeal.

The army hummers use a huge tdi, but yes, there are road versions with the lambo engine in it, including IIRC the one clarkson drove on top gear years ago.

The H1 has a range of engines and is a civilian version of the original Humvee. The "blingin" H2 has a 6l V8 petrol, is based on the Escalade platform and has nothing to do with the army.

Can't find any reference to Lamborguini though

There are a couple of H2's around here, other than a Bluetooth Headset the easiest way to look a complete tit.

The one Clarkson drove was a Lamborghini LM002, with a detuned Countach engine. If someone has fitted a Lambo engine to a real Hummer, they are very deluded, especially as any number of big hulking American V8's would fit better and be more reliable.
