Mostly electrical stuff.
Blows bulbs like nothing I have ever driven (headlights mostly - on number 8 having done 77k)
Silly stupid things like the CD not working (5 changer up front)
The mats cause the accelerator to stick wide open (not that you would notice on the D version!
Glovebox has locked itself shut and had to be forced.
New gearbox, clutch and Flywheel at 36k. Cylinder head gasket at 55k.
I have lots of mechanical sympathy and have never had any issues in any car previously. I cannot wait for 90k to come and get rid.........its a Co car.
Shame really, beacuse it is really good at lots of things. Good equipment, digital AC, Cruise, auto wipers and lights etc etc.
Handling is excellent on the 17"s. And it is comfortable. Looks good in the WRC Blue........
Some of the above will be unique to the Diesel version (head gasket and possible the GBox, but the rest?????). The 137bhp petrol engine (same as in later 306's) is really sweet. The diesel one I have is not as economical as it should be. Struggles to better 40mpg.
If I had paid good money for it I would be well peed off.

A mate has a "sahara yellow" example (read goldy metallic). I've not heard that anything in particular has gone wrong. He's done over 30K now.
It's a modern, stiff chassis, tall hatchback. It seems to generate a lot of cornering force but leans a bit with it.

I owned a Brand new Peugeot 206CC for a year and it is the worst built new car I have ever owned. Couldn't wait to get rid of it, the only plus point was the depreciation was bearable due to it being a convertible.
Personally I would go for a slightly older, better built car like an Audi A3.
