Galant 2.5 V6...
Hi,
After 2 ½ happy years of happy motoring and modding in my scoob i think it might finally be time to move on....
I have been giving alot of thought to what to go for next and think i have decided that the Galant is the one for me...
Has anyone got any experience of these cars, power, handling, ecconemy, yes ecconemy, got to save some pennies somehow...
Cheers,
John.

This may help a bit

Without wanting to confuse anyone; the turbocharged 2000cc & 2500cc V6's are extremely cheap in Japan, both Galants and Legnums. The 2.5 litre VR-4 EC5a's make 280PS and theyre sooo cheap; E84a 2 litre V6 TTs make 240PS and they cant give them away. Makes you think doesnt it?

We had one (an estate) after selling the scoob due to the arrival of Twins. To be honest it was a great car in many practical ways but it wallowed and made the kids sick in the back. Economy was high 20's, excellent boot space, and was quick enough if not exactly exciting. Really comfortable seats (probably best I have ever had).

Hi, we've had a MY00 2.5 V6 for a couple of years now and, apart from the dealer being a bit slack, can't fault it really. They seem to get faster if you drive them hard, think they have a 'learning' ecu ( on the autos anyway ). No horror stories that I'm aware of.

We've got a 280bhp 2.5 V6 Twin Turbo VR-4 estate and it is an excellent car, comfy, roomy and very quick ( have shocked quite a few people!) turbo lag is non-existant.
Economy is better than the Scooby and if you go for an auto box with tiptronic you have the best of both worlds!
I wouls highly recommend one.
I've heard that stiffer and lower springs sorts out any ride problems.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply's so far guys...
I was at one time thinking of going for the VR4, but to be honest i'm trying to come down off the 'Modding' bug (need to be boring and save for a house) to save some money, and i feel that if i buy another Turbo/performance car which can easily be modified, i would'nt be able to resist throwing money at it...
What only £500 for a re-map, i'll get it booked in...lol, i know myself too well...
I just want a fairly pokey car with good looks, which i relate to the Galant 2.5...!!!
What sort of price are the 2.5 V6's going for these days, i'm sure i've seen a few going for under £5k...
Are there any changes, face lifts etc to these cars...if so anyone know when it happend...???
Cheers,
G.
