Nice One. I always have to wait 6-12 months before NZ TV get TG !!
Got any more ?????
Top Gear from 30mph was a bit artificial.
The key to driving any car fast is to use the 'correct' gear to milk the peak power/torque range. IMHO.

I think its a great technical achievement to squeeze 400bhp from a 2 litre engine though, hats off to Mitsubishi. It makes the huge block V8 in the new Mustang with 300bhp (along with its live rear axle) seem positively archaic.

Some people.
I don't think it's an ugly car, far from it. Obviously anyone with half a brain cell and a small family would plump for the Lambo but for 'out-of-the-box' true performance (not just a BHP figure, after all 400 next to an RS6 isn't all that), without all the issues that come from tuning, that Evo is pretty impressive.
That said I'd have the Mustang. Looked like a car should look

cool clip i missed it too.
i agree well done mitsu for producing a 4 door saloon that does 0-60 in 3.5 secs and 175mph. i think 47k is reasonable for such performance out of the box. do any production scoobs come close?
imo that's the best looking lancer i've seen, certainly not the best looking car but mean moody and purposedful.
reckon stig could have gone faster the track looked a bit damp and he messed up a few corners.

mine makes 550 from a 2.5 litre, yet makes full boost (2.0bar) in any gear at under 3500rpm.
Am now switching to a 450/500bhp turbo which should give me serious boost at substantially less than 3000rpm.
probably a touch harder to drive mine!

Also, looks like Subaru are going down the same path. my05 has the equivalent YAW control.
I don't think I'll be buying another scoob or evo in the future, I will have to source a mk1/mk2 escort so I can learn to drove and not the car do it for me.

Impressive, but you'd get a far cheeper and more useable 400 brake if you tuned it yourself.... just without the warenty.
did it give an rpm where the turbo got on boost? and what boost does it run?

I agree, I found it quite alarming that you could go round bends sideways and have one hand on the steering wheel. Looks like the computers are taking over the driving.
