Default MK3 Golf Brakes/MOT

My mum's car went in for an MOT and failed One of the things it failed on was teh front brake balance was out by 31%

How the **** can they tell that and what is it? Does that mean the discs and pads need replacing or something else more considerable wrong?

Cheers
Neil

Sounds like leaky caliper seals or sticking slide pins to me, not a big job, and something you must be familiar with as they are not massively different from pug ones.

BTW yes, you probably may have to replace the discs & pads as a consequence but they aren't dear from someone like GSF or Euro Car Parts

Ah, cheers mate, I suspected something along those lines. Had a look on GSF and its 7.50 per disc and a tenner for the pads - woooooaaaaah
And you're not wrong about being familiar with the brakes, done the pug, several mates cars, fitted new calipers to my old supra etc, so should have them done in no time!

Thanks!
