We've had these discussions before.
When all the impreza turbo drivers get all high and mighty about the danger of these, I'd ask what are the crash statistics for impreza turbos. Plenty killed and injured there.
What should be banned - the cars that might cause problems, or the cars that do cause problems?

The thing about the big 4x4s is the damage they do to others when in a crash. You can choose what to have a crash in but not what crashes into you.

And the stickers were about the damaging air quality as much as they were about the bull bars, which are not needed in Chelsea.

Relax, no prams here, and I make no assumptions about you - that's just your assumption. I must say, considering I purposely did not word my post in reply to you, you seem to have taken it very personally.
I just find it ironic that there have been a number of anti 4x4 discussions of late (and when it comes to feckoff great Landcruisers and Range Rovers I agree with them) on a bbs mainly frequented by people who drive at high speed and are known to crash as a result - witness the insurance premiums, which is higher, a Land Cruiser or an Impreza? An Impreza, why? Because there are more claims from them. Unless someone from the insurance industry wants to correct me, it's as simple as that. I assume the industry don't read the Daily Mail to make up their premiums, they look at last years stats. And last years stats will probably show that impreza drivers cause more damage than 4x4 drivers, as a whole.
Bullbars I cannot comment on, but air quality - again, how many people on here have a full decat and talk about their fuel consumption in the low-mid 20s? Hardly anything to be proud of.
Just a bit tired of the hypocrasy, that's all.

Yeah didn't sound like you were getting out your pram.
Anyway, back on topic.
I was actually posting it as a light hearted friday story, regardless of the rights and wrongs in anyones opinion, I thought the concept they came up with was very funny.

Just done a search on SMMT, as it's Friday afternoon and I have many things to finish before I go home
RAV4 petrol 5 door, 96-99 model - 223 g/km
Honda CRV petrol 5 door, 00-04 MY - 229g/km
Impreza turbo 4 door, 94-02MY - 243g/km
Impreza WRX STI Type UK, MY02> - 265g/km
Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon, petrol V8, MY02> - 393g/km.
Just closed the site, before I thought of looking up a few executive barges like M5, Jag, 4-litre Mercs etc. Could have been a giggle...
