Default Fabia vRS

Went to subaru to book my car back in (lights leaking) and thought id be cheeky and get a test drive in a Fabia vRS!

OMG!!!! This thing flies lol, handles road brilliantly and there were no noticable flat spots. The power was there instantly. Brakes shocked me though, theyre bloody good imo. went down a back road and mechanic with me told me to boot it, who am i to refuse! Really does go when you put your foot down, didnt realise they were 6 speed either

Now to find a spare 13-14k lol

The OTR retail price is 11995 and I know of people getting them for closer to 11k :-)

They are pretty good arent they - check out www.briskoda.net if youre interested.

Fabia's are good cars (I've got one) but handling is definately not their stong point.

True, some springs and dampers would help. Steering? urm, it's no early pug gti, but ok as far as modern rubbish goes

Look at them though, look like Polo's, I know Skoda has a good rep now but the Fabia doesnt exactly look good and considering the spec you would think they would make it look at least a bit sporty.

The flipside is that I think its about the best looking small car around in vRS trim. Its distinctive, solid looking but not full of styling cliches that date quickly.

Drove the 3 cylinder base model yesterday while my Octavia was in for service and it was a cracking little car to drive - sounded like a 911 in 1st and 2nd, very chuckable, rode well and refined. Tanked along at 9* easy enough and generally feels like a much bigger, more expensive car.

ps The 185bhp vRS Fabias were a match for my 220bhp 4x4 on track...
