No sale for you SEAT!
As some of you may know, i'm currently chopping both my cars for a single car, which has warranty.
Ideally I want an S2000, but i also went to look at a Cupra-R. Bloke yesterday said come back in the week as they need 2 members of staff on premises at all times - and don't forget my license.
I show up today (30 mile round trip) only to be told that i can't take either the Leon or Ibiza cupra-r as i am under 25. How do you expect to sell a car if you don't let me know if i like driving it???? fools. There goes £18k + finance deal for them...
Skoda garage was the same on the Octavia vRS - and even on the Fabia vRS which is only a TDi...
I was allowed a test drive in an S2000, CTR, and a scoob no problems..

I personally think you should have been turned down a test drive of the S2000 too, under 25 with an S2000?!! it wouldnt be fair to the old fart S2k owners like myself, who would be jealous they had to wait till they were over 30 to get one
Bloody youngsters, go get a Saxo

Its the policy of the insurance company that that dealer group uses. Hence both SEAT and Skoda affected.
I can only assume it was on ALL cars, as the Fabia is a TDI and only Grp.7 or 8.

Personally I wouldnt buy a car brand new again, too much money is lost during the first couple of years. When you want the car you see this really goes to the back your mind and you just want it regardless of how much you will lose from it.
Ive got an octavia rs, an awesome car all round although some will differ, but I hate to think how much it will be worth after 3 years. Theres alot of remapped ones going for around £9k. Bargain.
Do your self a favour mate and buy a Ford F150 Lightning

Best colour SidHead, nurby blue looks superb, and has the only blue leather and top available, all the rest of the colours follow the standard colour choices.
Its known as ladyboy blue on the S2k forum, but its just pure jealousy

This is quite amuzing although i would be seriously pissed off if i was sent away with no test drive. Before i got the M3, without having my driving lisence on me, i test drove a Civic Type R, Leon Cupra R and a Focus RS -
My mate took out a WRX STI PPP thing and we turned up in my Saxo VTR - but i have to say in sheffield there is a lot of cash and it isn't unusual so see someone in their 20's in a flashy motor !!!!!
I would write to seat though mate, get them to loan you a Cupra R for the weekend, put 700 miles on the clock and take it back saying you don't fancy it lol

I think i just went to crap dealer with crap insurance.
Went to another one and they said i couldn't there, but someone would drive it for me. He got the sales manager to take me, who promptly went down the road and said, "right your go but dont tell them back there"...

Seems some dealers are complete to55ers when it comes to sales, before I bought the scoob (blob-eye) I went to Mitsi to look at the Evo 8, the sales man was totally uninterested, so me and the Mrs went the next day and test drove the scoob ( the dealer gave us a quick vetting over the phone-current car etc ) and ordered it, the Mitsi dealer phones back about a month later saying he had one in the showroom for me to look at only, so the Mrs told him we had got an STi instead . Then on the other side of things we went to look at a 4x4 for her recently once again a Mitsi but at a different dealer, couldn't have been nicer to us, let us take the car out for a while and even said that if we bought from him he would give me a really good deal on an EVO to get me out of the Scoob
Same happened to a mate and his Mrs, they went to look at a CTR but were told they could only have a test drive after putting a deposit down on a car it wasn't as if they were young kids to the mates 36.
John.

Must have been down to the dealer not letting an under 25 take an lcr out. There are quite a few under 25s with LCR's from what I have seen on the SEAT sites, unfortunately Im over that and I got mine in March so didnt have any problems!
I think it depends on the area as its one of those cars that like the scoob, evo etc wants to be test driven by people who no intention of buying one.

I turned up in my scoob tho..
Dan: I thought it was great, seemed to pull better than my scoob (but mine is standard ) and it wanted to oversteer rather than understeer - which is nice!
I was really surprised how well it went if you were cruising in 6th and stuck your boot down. I wasn't very impressed with the seats, i could feel my lower back starting to twinge (i suffer from this a bit).
Overall it just didn't grab me as a car I would love like my scoob, and ultimately i had to be buying a car like that as I have to watch my scoob go off down the road without me
If i'm allowed a company car in the future then i'd get one without a doubt...
