Mk2 Golf GTi- for £60...
Went out for a cycle whilst down visiting my folks and stopped to speak to a friends dad who mentions that he's selling his Golf Gti. It's a 1990 H reg big bumper job with power steering. The MOT was just up and it was running rich so he's stopped using it. After a bit of haggling I took it away for £60. £15 later for a new Air flow meter and it's running a lot better. Needs a wheel bearing and the suspensions a bit soft, oh and it's on TSW Venoms
Other than that I'm a happy bunny. It's off for an MOT next week, wish me luck
The little beasty itself...

Cheers guys. It's a bit tatty but not the worst in the world, could do with a good T-Cut. I hate polishing cars though, i prefer driving them...
I'm not to bothered aout it not being a valver, I've fond memories of road rallying in my old Mk2 8v.

Cheers guys. Mileage is about 133k, it's had a new engine and box in it though. I know the guy who had it for the past 7 years or so. It's tatty but honest.
I was off watching a sprint yesterday, I feel a plan hatching...

Wish I could get the bargain of the century.
We're coming over to the UK for 3.5 weeks, and I need to hire a car for up to 3 of those.
Hiring a brand new Ka for that period will cost me over £500.
Trouble is, with only a day before we need it to go from Sussex to Cumbria, I don't fancy being able to choose a reliable car in such short time. Chances are I'd grab something which would then conk out on the motorway.
Ah well. Money's designed to be spent, apparently.
