Default Bora TDI

Because of a new job which is a 70 mile round trip away and an addition to the family I have decided to change my M3 Golf VR6 for a Bora TDI.

A few questions for the people in the know.....

Im thinking of the PD 110 or PD130 are there any differences between the two or can you just remap the 115 to the 130 power levels?

Im thinking of buying a nearly new one are there any deals to be had?

Anyone driven one, your thoughts/opinons?

Should I be looking at any other marques of TD that would be quite quick and practial??

Thanks in advance

Scott

Ive purchased a Skoda Fabia vRS tdi pd 130 it basically goes like muck off a shovel as much fun as my scooby. better still on a trip to work I was pulling 56 mpg. its equipment level is very high as standard aswell and also as a good options list.

As for the 110 bhp its not as quick as the 130 but some owners of the 130 engine have had them r/r and the std cars have been pushing more then 145bhp but the 130 can be remapped to 185bhp and 311lbft of torque unlike the 110bhp which I think can be pushed to about 145bhp ONLY.

Have driven the 100 and 115, lovely drive (if you dont push it), didnt seem much in it really, have been a passenger in a 130 and again they all feel really grunty and I was hard pressed to say that the 130 was that much faster, torque figures are the same across the range give or take a few llbs. Will feel like the VR6 (a bit) until you try to wind it out and it gets to 4000 rpm and doesnt do anything more when the VR6 will keep on going.
