There is a section for older/non-production M-power cars at www.bm3w.co.uk that is quite good.

There are a couple of sites I use-some can 'bypass' the E36 M3 opting more for the E46 or E30 but try these:

BMW CC Mpower forum;www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/forum/
BM3W as above
M3 Supercar;www.m3supercar.com

Also, although a new site and growing and based on a wider cross-section of cars there are a good few E36 owners on at Real Cars Network ; www.realcarsnetwork.com
