Default honda civic vti 1.8 5 door?

anyone had one and if so what are they like, and is there a difference between the vti and the vti s version?
imho they look like a decent car for your money (about 4k for a low miles r reg) and you get all the toys with them aswell!
ant thoughts on the matter would be appreciated
Taffy.

i bought my wife one 5 years ago (ie new) and since then it's had a middle and back box, 1 set of tyres and service once a year (in 45,000 miles). Nothing ever goes wrong.

It's quick if you rev it, handling is not great but OK, brakes are excellent and does 35ish mpg. Kit wise it's very good. My understanding with the VTi and VTi S was the S was a bodykit (front spoiler and side skirts) and came in dark black/purple colour.

www.hondarevolutions.com

There will be more information on there for you mate.

IIRC they are 167bhp, will have trademark Honda reliability, realistic servicing/running costs and a bombproof V-Tec engine!!

HTH...

Thumbs up

I have one. Great cars in the Vtec zone, but nothing like the torque of the scoob. Steering wheel is a bit to big and this does take some getting used to, not ideal for the twisties.
Fuel economy is far better than the scoob ever was, getting at least a third etra miles for my money.
Insurance is cheap too. £365 for the Civic v's £700 for a WRX.

Fairly reliable but parts are expensive. Had a few niggles on mine but it has never let me down.
Has a bit of a traction problem in the wet from a stand still, even in the dry it can be tricky.

Having said that I can not think of anything better for the price, thats why I got one.

Hi there, i have had two VTi's one 1.6 and the current one which is a 1.8 VTI Aerodeck.

Difference between the VTI and S as i undersdtand it is the wheels, LSD on the VTI, projector front fogs on the VTI, 1/2 leather on the VTI.

Same engine and gearbox.

neither UK Civic Vti's come with an LSD standard, although you can fit the diff from an ITR I think.

what, quality control is that bad at Swindon that they can't be sure, or a certain model came with them?

I've got a mates mum with a Vti and a mate with a VtiS, I could swear having driven both cars that there was no LSD present. Certainly not one that behaves like my ITR one does.

Could you elaborate?

I had a 5dr vti and it certainly didn't have LSD either - let me do some digging, maybe it was dependant on model year.....

bog standard r reg 1.8 vti , its a silver 5 door with the factory bodykit on it,
I had a civic type r for a while, and I know the vti isnt a patch on the ctr but its a better prospect than driving an astra/focus that costs the same amount of money
its a matter of making the most of what you got and what really makes me smile is the fact that it will paid for
