Question 2.0l zetec into a mkII escort?

Hi

Me and our kid fancy ploughing 000's into a project car, never to be seen again so does anyone know of places that do parts for putting a 2.0l zetec into a mkII Escort?

Links to places that do ordinary tuning parts for scorts would be great aswelll ta!

Other engine suggestions would also be welcomed. We've considered the cossie route but fancy something a bit more revvy, for the noise element. We also considered the 24V Cosworth scorpio thingy too....if it gets a scorpio off off the road it has to be a good thing but we reckon it might be too heavy and numb?

There's no rush mind, it's gonna be a long termer, we don't even have a car yet or the money to get the car.....

I 've seen a few cossie powered MKII's

Cossie V6 will be a PITA to get running without the autobox (unless you fancy a MII auto ). But it can be done

Zetec should quite a straight forward ish conversion once you've sorted out the ignition system (Bloody EDIS )

I managed to find a place that does engine managment for the zetec and their reasonably local, www.trustelectrical.co.uk They do a throttle body kit with management and all the guff you need for 1800 quid....throttle bodies urf urf They do quite a few of the other bits aswel actually

I guess from your post the Scorpio was only available as an auto, well that's that option outta the window, I ain't having no auto box!

You said you wanted something a bit revvy and a bit different. How about this.

WOW, that Situne thing's a beast! Well cool! I had half considered the bike engine route, our kid won't entertain it though

Dingy, I didn't realise the YB revved that high! I guess I mean summat that sounds more revvy, you've gotta admit that a turbo, on any engine dulls the revvy sound of an engine....you do get wastegate chatter though, I think I've mentioned that about your car before actually! How is yours going, anymore pics...and the blue one? How do you find the YB for zipping round country lanes? Round here, the Yorkshire dales, it's quite narrow, lots of tight bends and a lot of gear changes, I thought a n/a car would be suited better than a turbo with it's lag, that said I've not much experience of driving turbos.

Oh, the zetec in my Fiesta has had the **** ragged off it for 5 years / 80K and it's been fine

And, if anyone else mentions the V word I'm gonna hunt em down and kick em in the nuts, it's 'kin sacriledge doing that and should be punishable by death!!!

Couple of engine shots....

Well i can beat evo's and scoobs down the country lanes round the peak's of matlock etc with no problems at all...

I wouldn't get rid of the YB for any motor in the escort
