The word "Evo" on a Subaru forum is like the word "Vegetarian" to a Butcher.
try http://www.lancerregister.com/index.php?styleid=4 for all the info you could possibly need

Great car, but go for a V if you can afford it. It's got more torque, bigger 17 " wheels, wider tyres and much better brakes (4 pot brembos) as standard among other things. Looks much more beefy as well...

Okey doke, will do. Think i prefer the V to the IV myself, looks like more of an animal, wot should i be lookin at cost wise for an unmodified EVO V ?

Anything from 12k to 16k.

Just remember you get what you pay for.

There are some nice well looked after examples on the MLR.

I've owned an EVO IV and V, the same interior apart from the IV's driver's seat does not adjust up and down and is very low!! The V has the wider arches and stance which looks nicer.

Performance wise they were identical, the V has slightly better torque but the IV is slightly lighter and IMHO handled better on 16" wheels!

The best thing is I sold my EVO IV for 10K about 3 years ago and they still fetch the same money!!!!!

Insurance is a bit of a nightmare as is getting parts, it took me 6 months the source a door handle for my IV.

Dom.

Question

cheers for the replies so far.

Are the EVO's handling as foolproof as they are made out to be?
