The word "Evo" on a Subaru forum is like the word "Vegetarian" to a Butcher.

Great car, but go for a V if you can afford it. It's got more torque, bigger 17 " wheels, wider tyres and much better brakes (4 pot brembos) as standard among other things. Looks much more beefy as well...

Come over to http://www.lancerregister.com and see us all over there. Plenty of good advice along with a wonderful buyers guide that gives you everything you will need to know about buying one.

I've owned an EVO IV and V, the same interior apart from the IV's driver's seat does not adjust up and down and is very low!! The V has the wider arches and stance which looks nicer.
Performance wise they were identical, the V has slightly better torque but the IV is slightly lighter and IMHO handled better on 16" wheels!
The best thing is I sold my EVO IV for 10K about 3 years ago and they still fetch the same money!!!!!
Insurance is a bit of a nightmare as is getting parts, it took me 6 months the source a door handle for my IV.
