Question

Looking at getting either a Ibiza Tdi Sport(130) or a Focus TDCi(115), what are peoples views, which one do you reckon is the better car?
Oh, the reason for this choice is the GF just passing her driving test and will shortly be driving to work.

The Ibiza every time, but be warned 130bhp and a first time driver will not be cheap on insurance! Fun though!

Having owned/driven both, I'd go for the Focus. Much better car overall...

The only thing the Ibiza has over the Focus is its speed and standard equipment, for everything else the Focus is best.

Oh and for god's sake don't buy a new one, my sister has just picked her Focus TDCI up, £9000 for a new shape '02 115 LX with 23k miles.

My black TDi Sport may be for sale soon, does far too much mpg.

I need to get back in the teens on the daily commute

Oh, and they are loads of fun to drive.

Gotta admit leaning towards the TDI sport, but the focus sport does look nice with the ST170 alloys. Or is it me?

FULL COMP and 0% finance min deposit 10%

I dont know if the will do the same on the car you are after?

I looked at both and I currently have a Focus zetec. The Seat is okay but is quite a bit smaller. Although the Focus has less power the delivery seemed to be better on the Focus and not as peaky and narrow band. Best to drive them both but decided a diesel isnt for me as I dont do the mileage to justify the extra outlay over the equivalent petrol.

Test drove both (the 115 is the best TDCi engine in the Focus isn't it?) and bought the Ibiza.

Few more toys and the six speed box is very nice on the motorway. See far fewer Ibiza's about on the roads, although it is getting more popular.
