Odd really. They took far too long to make it and it's all over. Good idea if you want legendary status but I doubt the RS will get that far. Not that it isn't a good car (its a cracker) but its no legend.

I think Ford are planning a new monster RS with loads more BHP.

Exclamation

The RS8 Focus whilst fun in concept, is basically just a way for Ford to generate some interest inthe current shape car in the slow period between now and the launch of the new shape Focus in 2004. IMHO.

not sure what piccies you have seen of cossie? Must have been a prototype that will never see production?

My mate works for ford on focus engines...he says no cossie will ever happen. There is no money in it for ford to produce such a car...shame

I would have one

Nobody knows for sure what engine Ford will use for any Cosworth or MK2 Focus RS. It is quite possible we will see another Focus RS with the new shape, which may be 4WD, but no Cosworth badge.

If they can joint develop something with Volvo or Mazda, another fast Focus isn't going to make or get to market. Ford have successfully relaunched the RS brand now (including throughout Europe where the RS name was never really used) and also know that there is a market, considering the RS was sold out almost from day one.

My problem is that I don't like the look of the next generation Focus, inside or out. It looks far too much like a VW (before their recent changes). Still, some people may love it...

The new Focus isn't even introduced until the end of 2004, so I am not concerned about a Cossie Focus appearing any time soon.

Mine is 1 year old next month so by the time any new RS appears the car would have probably been up for sale anyway.
