I can only now laugh about it as I have ordered its replacement, but the Clio 172 is back in the dealer again. Faulty radio remote again and the headlamp washers have fallen apart again.

And I have an Astra 1.6 auto for the day. Nice...

Just had a call.

Did the 36k service aswell, replaced front brake pads.

Noticed that the inside of the front bumper was covered in tape. Bumper had been taped to the chassis and a load of bolts were missing. Add to that that one of the engine mounts was broken and looked like it had been for some time. Garage want to keep the car as its not safe to drive, so I told them thats fine.

I cannot beleive what has been done to my car !!! Fish Brothers in Reading had had the front bumper off a few times to sort things out and they were the last people to touch it.

Thankfully Fish Brothers have gone bankrupt, but the dealer is now called Bridges (i think). If they are the same mechanics and service people there then DO NOT TOUCH THE DEALER WITH A BARGE POLE !!! They are clearly (going on my history) clueless amateurs who could not fix a f*cking fault on a car properly if it bit them on the **** IMHO.

W@nkers. I am NEVER having a Renault again and will tell all my family and friends not to either.

Cant wait till the Seat arrives...

Shame the froggies still haven't got their act in order yet - my mate had an original clio williams #1 and he had no end of probs with that also

Luckily when the drivers seat collapsed on his, he was in the Burger king drive thru not on the M1 , took him weeks to wipe all the pepsi from the rear seats though..

Its a funny thing but the one thing Car mags can't test is Build Q. I can only talk from my own car but my CTR has now done 15,500 miles from new.

NO FAULTS
No Return to dealership expect for service.

All the Honda CTR pilots i know tell me they had little or NO troble at all. Something to think about when you read 0-60 and top speeds.

To finsh first........first your got to finish!

My CTR had the passenger window seal replaced, drivers window regulator, outside roof trim replaced, offside headlight replaced whole-height adjustment went mad and the wheel alighnment was way off so I got that sorted.
Not bad for 14k miles

I had nothing but problems with Fish Brothers as well and thought they were complety useless. The ironic thing at the time was I worked for Renault UK as the Area Manager ...very short lived role and no wonder they went pear shaped imo

Not a 172, but my missus on on her second Clio, she bought the first one new and kept it for almost three years, bought her current one new in June, neither have been in the garage other than servicing, which is not often, she loves her Clio. No accounting for taste I suppose.

Fish Brothers alive and kicking in Swindon with franchises for Renault, Fiat, Skoda, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota and Lexus.

Bridges are also in Cirencester, and we have had 3 Renaults from them, they are top dealers.

Clio Cup

Had a few problems made worse by a crap dealer. For the cash I paid you cant get a better car for what it does.

They are not all bad !
