I heard that Ford stopped Skoda calling their car the RS because they had copyright over the initials RS (Rally Sport) on a car (it's now the vRS).
So how can they get away with that when Porsche have had an RS (Renn Sport- German for motorsport) for years? Just wondered.

Subaru also used RS (Road Sport) on the twin-turbo Legacy. Can't see how anyone can have copyright over two letters, otherwise some car company or other will have others in court over GL, GLS, GT, XL, etc.. Maybe Skoda just chose not to spend the money defending the action

I think all ford did was get skoda change the syling of the RS badge on their car 'cos it was to similar to the RS logo.

Rallye sport is copyrighted by Ford, not RS as it's just initials
