New Audi RS4... any idea when?
#1
currently lucky enough to have an e36 328 coupe auto and a very modded evo6.
however, eventually i want to down to one car and save myself a fortune in running costs, free up garage space etc etc.
i like the idea of an understated v8 powered car, but especially like the idea of a turbocharged version (for mild tuning etc), yet can be parked anywhere, serviced anywhere and is user friendly.
been thinking about an m3 with smg (im lazy), an m5 (got a v8 )but an rs6 is out of my league financially at the moment
there are rumours in the motoring press about an rs4 being due at some point, but anyone got any idea when? rough cost and engine spec?
many thanks for any advice/guesswork
p.s. really fancy something auto/tiptronic, v8, tunable, yet understated but not 'old bloke' if you know what i mean (so no jag s-types)
any suggestions?

In that case, how about a Merc C43 AMG?
V8, auto, saloon and the depreciation will be on your side!
There are usually a couple advertised in The Sunday Times motoring supplement I think. Very good value used, just a bit small in the back for passengers.

The new saloon RS4 by Quattro GmbH has been seen pounding in the test miles for some time now, so I'm sure our frequent Ringers will have seen it do the Nordschleife at considerable speed. It is supposed to sport three huge air vents in the front bumpers, giving it a mean and nasty look. Engine is probably the well-known 4.2 V8 biturbo.
The RS6 will be withdrawn in 2004, along with the regular A6, so a 2004 introduction is on the cards.

cheers guys!
if its out next year, i may hang on to what ive got for a bit longer. ballpark price for the new rs4 anyone?
is it just me, or is the thought of a twin turbo v8 in an a4 body just about the coolest thing on four wheels?!
