Do you know that the VTS manual talks about aircon and shows an aircon button amoungst the many blanked out buttons on the dash Whats that all about because its never been an option in the UK as far as I could see!? Did vts's in other countries come with aircon?

On the subject of aircon I think you'll struggle to find a hot-hatch that meets your criteria, is about £5k and has air-con. I can't think of any of the top of my head! What about that proton GTI thing, did it have aircon?? Can you pick up a Polo GTI for that sort of money, they have aircon don't they? Ok, ok so apparently I can think of some

Just a thought,

Can you pick up a Puma for 5 grand?

I know some people think they`re girly but they are a good drive (1.7 especially). And air con was available too.

Yeah Puma's are available for 5k and less I think for early ones. Needs to have a lux Pack to get the Air Con but most 1.7's came with this...

Cheers,
Grant

I haven't seen any for that low (£5400 was the cheapest and it had 94k on the clock). I spent most of Saturday looking for a Puma for my girlfriend, going rate is closer to £6k for an early R reg one and add about £500 for the air con/lux pack. We looked at a couple of R/S reg ones and they were all dogs which obviously hadn't been looked after (damn lady owners )

Oh well, the search continues...

Saxo VTR, I know I know, but they are great value for money and fit your criteria.

If you can stretch then a VTS or 106 GTi(my personal choice) would be better.

Sorry just realised you want air con, all of the above are out.

Toyota Starlet/Glanza turbo. Meets all of your criteria, plus 0-60 in under 8 seconds and very tunable.
