urgent help on lotus

hey can anyone help me with a lotus problem? Looking after my brothers lotus while he is away working and when i tried to start it the battery seems dead and the engine isnt even turning over so i think its the battery only problem is his battery is in the front and i dunno how to open the front part only the back part is anyone could help it would be great thanx

Got it went back up to his house and opened it switched on the ignition and it started no problem. What has happened is that when i took the alarm off and opened the car because i never started it within a certain time the imobiliser kicked in so thats why it would start silly me lol thanx anyway

Don't bump start any car that has a catalytic convertor.
Jump leap it using another car would be the easiest way to ascertain whether or not it's a flat battery.
As to how to open the front - is there a manual in the car? Also try posting on pistonheads as I think there's a fair few lotus people on there.
