Sorry, but i have no respect for Porsches... Not the newer ones anyway... We passed a few in my 128bhp 1981 Fiesta at the 'Ring with no problem at all! ok you will say they were not trying but so what!? I was chuffed anyway.

Must be horrible being a scooby owner... always praying for rain on nice sunny days... Must be quite a miserable, and drab existence, only going for a run in the car when there is sleet, snow, rain, and hailstones on the road... But then again, you are unbeatable in the wet...

Boxter S would win hands down...
...and the owner would have enough time to spare to get the pants down on the bird he pulled in the pitlane, and all before the hapless P1 driver would pull into the pits, totally unnoticed by the girls, who are simply not interested in such mundane looking cars.

Very very close run thing, either wet or dry! (as has been said standard boxster beat P1 in the wet in EVO, but thats not exactly to be taken religiously)
Me? I'd take the Boxster if if was sunny....
P1 a very desirable car though!

errr Autocar 2000 mag best handling car edition Boxster S vs P1. P1 was 2 secs a lap quicker round Miravelle. P1 was also rated best car in the wet.

Its a subjective thing though. Hardly anyone drives a car to its full potential especially a car like a Boxter S which would take more skill and anticipation.
If we are talking about the ring it really would be down to the driver.

My Type R was faster round the GP circuit at silverstone than the boxter S - just for comparison
I thought the boxter was an MR2 at first LOL
Added to say WRX STI Type-R - not a civic shopping car

This is a sorry thread of the times on scoobynet
'my car is faster than yours' threads are for 14 year olds.
Why can't this BBS just admire two fantastic cars for what they are ?? - rather than trying to score points - 'he was trying' 'but I had 2 passengers' and elsewhere I've seen 'I burnt a porker off'...
For crying out loud - this WAS a BBS full of car enthusiasts - but as time goes on - its drizzled into MAXPOWER league of numb skulls.
Would one beat the other - I don't know - I've owned both - they are both brutually fast in their own ways. The P1 doesnt have the right (stock) brakes - the 'S' doesnt have the outright grunt. Let's call it a draw and some mod PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD.
'nuff said.
Gastro - 'brutually honest'

Just swapped my P1 for a Boxster and all I can say is it takes me an extra 5 mins to get to work each day
Mind you it's only the 2.5 and I reckon the Eastbourne Zimmerframe Relay team will probably outrun it in a straight line!!
Doesn't 'alf corner tho!!
