Thanks guys.
Garage would have been fine to take my order on Saturday, and I got the impression that its not longer a limited number build. After reading some of the posts on that BBS, it would appear that they still might be making them in December.
Thinking time......
Just to add, the sales man did mention that the DSG gearbox would be available as an option as of yesterday. (that might explain the higher prices now floating about?)

Thanks for the heads up about the DSG gearbox. My order is being placed on the VW system today and I originally wanted the DSG box but was told it wouldn't be coming to the UK.
I've got a call into the dealer, I think I feel an order alteration coming on

Anyone got one of these? Had a look over one in the showroom on Saturday (Leeds), and was told that if I order one, not to expect it for 9 months.
Would sell me the demo car, but at the same price as a new one
What are they like? Road noise, how tired do you feel when you've driven 200 miles? Stuff like that?

9 months is total BS, They are going to stop building the mark IV R32 by December this year because the MK V golf is being launched.
I've got one on order that is due Sept/October time, but if you ring round a few garages you'll find there are quite a few arriving in the next 2-3 months that dealers have managed to put through for fake customers.
