I went out for a drive in my car this afternoon, the needle on the fuel was just in the red. I booted it round a sharp corner and the car started to play up after doing this, the acceleration kept dying and coming back, especially at low speed and misfires at high revs when standing still. I think i must of picked up a load of muck from the bottom of the tank and clogged up the filter. The fuel filter looks old and I reckon it could be this as the car was running perfect before.

The question is this - Does any other filter fit, ie 2Li Sierra filter? As it is the weekend it is very hard to get cossie parts.

Cheers

Garry

nope its unique to the cosworth, although it does look like others , the connections are different.

Should change these every couple of years anyway.

A 4x4 one has the same ends but is thinner and wont fit in the cradle

they are about £20, only Ford sell them.

Cheers for your help, went to Halfords today and they have ordered me a new filter, but I have managed to sort it for now by reversing the pump, seems to have worked and have driven the car this afternoon and done about 25 miles. Will still fit the new filter when I get it though. Perhaps it is now the time to get a new fuel tank as it is about 16 years old.

Garry

PS Clint gave me the idea to reverse the pump, cheers m8
