Good old Lancaster - All the mods you'd do anyway, but keep the warranty
A bit expensive tho
Chipped, full Cat back stainless steel exhaust, 19" Diablos, HKS PowerFlow induction kit and tints

This is a friends car, these pics were taken about 6 months ago...
Just goes to show he's got good taste if its being offered as a conversion from a Dealer!!
For the record, I really like his car and it sounds like this car is pretty much identical to the one being offered here.
Cheers,
Grant

There is no way the Honda warranty is going to cover these modifications. These are bolt on mods that any aftermarket supplier could fit, just because its a Honda Dealer fitting them does not mean you keep the Honda warranty. You'll note that no-where ont he web page does it mention the warranty or imply that it would be unaffected.

That's soooo expensive!
I've already got a Carbon Fibre CAI on my CTR which cost £200 fitted (Ok so it was discounted), plus a Magnex 6x4 that I paid under £300 for FITTED.
As for the wheels, I've got serious doubts about fitting 19"s to a CTR and what it would do for the handling. There's no mention of lowering or geometry configuration to take account of the new wheels?
Plus my dealer does tinting for a lot less than £400
On the question of whether it's covered under warranty, this is down to the individual dealer. Some are Ok, some aren't. I'm lucky and my dealer is very pro-mod
What about the chipping they mention on here BTW?

They mention the chip is on its way, apparently.
Could be interesting
Agreed, its all overpriced, but hey, its good to see a dealer fitting non-Honda approved mods for once.
The HKS engine management chip is available soon

Watched a Mugen airbox system fitted to a CTR at the weekend. Gave 0.5 bhp gain. Then a "performance" exhaust was added. This added another whopping big 0.5 bhp.
And those gains could have simply come from the air getting a bit cooler
Leave them alone, you can't improve on them, well, not short of chipping them or changing the big stuff.
All IMHO of course

what we're talking about here is an already highly tuned 2litre engine developing power close to a uk flat 4 with a turbo, I wouldnt dream of modifying such a car, the increases are bound to be pityful without some serious work. If anything its more likely that things will be messed up.

You would be better off spending your hard earned on suspension and tyres, these will make you go faster that "bolt on bollox"
IMHO of course.

naturally, people often forget that we also have to drive around corners too, I think my Goodyear GSD3's were more of an improvement in overall performance than my decat! Especially in this weather (not that the type-r doesnt come with decent tyres you understand)

IMO the suspension is fine. Why would you change that ? Apart from geometry settings. Proven gains are given from upgrading the induction and exhaust on these cars, so I have no idea where you get the impression that it will make little improvement.
The CTR comes with very average tyres, Potenzas. One of the most beneficial mods is to get them changed quick sharp !

I assume its the standard price plus £259 for the induction kit, £529 for the Magnex, £1499 for wheels (less £500 for existing alloys) and £411.25 for the tints
So another couple of grand on the list price, with maybe a little discount here and there
